Safety, Quality and Environmental Policy

    Evergreen Marine Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") has traditionally recognized the obligation to conduct its affairs as a constructive corporate member of society and established an occupation Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System (hereinafter referred to as the "SQE") for our cargo ships (Container Carriers) and Company's shore-based personnel. We

	commit to establish safeguards against all identified risk and to maintain a safe and healthy working environment aboard all ships and shore staff under management;
	commit to prevent pollution from spillage and discharge of oil, disposal of garbage or any toxic substance, or through emissions to the atmosphere at a minimum;
	commit to comply with applicable national and international safety and pollution prevention laws and regulations regarding air, water and environment in general; and any other requirements to which we subscribe.

    It is our policy to provide marine transportation services of quality, safety and efficiency.  Through management review, we assess the adequacy, effectiveness, and suitability of our management system, including our stated policies and associated objectives, to ensure that these targets are met.

    I will be fully responsible for implementing the safety and environmental protection policy of the company.  I hereby designate the Head of the Marine Division to monitor SQE implementation and authorize him as Designated Person (DP) to provide a link between the Company and ship.

    Top management welcomes input from interested parties and all of our employees regarding ways to improve our performance whether it be through safety, quality or environmental initiative.

General Introduction

    Welcome to Evergreen Marine Corporation, EMC's Safety, Quality and Environmental (SQE) Management System.  Evergreen Marine Corporation is headquartered in 163, Hsin-nan Road, Section 1, Lu-Chu, Tao-yuan Hsien, 338, Taiwan.

    Evergreen Marine Corporation is owner and operator of container vessels.  A complete list of these vessels and Company's Safety, Quality and Environmental policy can be obtained at any time by writing to our headquarter office or visiting our web site www.evergreen-marine.com

    This manual is designed to describe our integrated SQE management system. The manual is available to all personnel on board our ships and in the office.  Employees have communicated and understood to this manual and any other relevant procedures at any time. The Company's EMS policy, part of a Company's management system, be communicated and understood to all persons working for or on behalf of the Company and be available to the public by our web site.

    Top management welcomes comments and suggestions that identify problems, accidents, near misses or opportunities for improvement.  We strive to establish and maintain an atmosphere of cooperation with all company personnel.  Input is vital to the continual improvement of our SQE management skill to both safety and environmental protection, and the fulfillment of customer requirements.
