LOG-NET Honors Carrier's Customer Service
LONG BEACH, CA-Global container
carrier Evergreen has been named recipient of the first annual award
for E-commerce Excellence by LOG-NET, Inc., an industry leader of
international web-based supply chain execution solutions. The presentation
was made here yesterday (March 3) at the TransPacific Maritime Conference
before an audience of some 600 logistics industry people. The TPM
event is sponsored by the Journal of Commerce.

John Motley, LOG-NET CEO
and founder, said that the award recognizes the Taiwan-based shipping
company, "for its consistent performance across multiple clients
and Evergreen's ability to achieve the highest level of completeness
and timeliness among all ocean carriers rated in the delivery of EDI
events LOG-NET customers have selected most important to them."
He added that Evergreen was
selected after a detailed analysis of the almost 500,000 FEU's of
international containerized traffic that LOG-NET manages in it supply
chain visibility services. "The Evergreen team should be commended
on their consistent performance," he said.
"Evergreen's operations,
customer service, systems and electronic staff have consistently proven
that they can work together under the most time crunching conditions
to achieve and deliver impressive results for their customers worldwide,"
Mr. Motley said.
Accepting the award, a crystal
pillar, was Wesley Brunson, Executive Vice President of Evergreen
America Corp., North America agents for EMC. "Our goal has always
been to be customer-centric. To be the recipient of this honor that
is a direct result of our exporters and importers around the world
is both gratifying and humbling," he said.
Arnold Wang, President of
Evergreen Marine in Taiwan, said: "In the last few months, Evergreen
has received international recognition for environmental excellence,
quality assurance and for safety and training. This newest award,
directly tied to how we serve our customers, recognizes the efforts
that are made by Evergreen staff and systems worldwide. We are pleased
to know that our efforts are yielding such success."
Mr. Motley noted that the
Evergreen team "has had to perform consistently with specific
messages and achieved the highest level of completeness amongst all
ocean carriers rated in the delivery of the EDI events our customers
have selected as most important to them."
To be selected, Evergreen
provided more than 99% of the selected transactions on a timely basis
from every point in its service network. "It implies a solid
customer focus and the ability to identify, monitor and report the
disposition of a specific customer's freight anywhere in the world,"
Mr. Motley said.
More than 35 ocean carriers
were part of this review and all of the top lines in the world were
included. "Evergreen has earned this recognition as the best
in the world for their improvements and evolution in the area of customer
focused electronic commerce," said Mr. Motley.
